SOME MEN LIE ABOUT VIOLENCE TO HELP IN DIVORCE CASES

In some cases, experts have noted that men are willing to lie in domestic violence cases, hoping to get an edge during a divorce. They can use these lies as a tool to get custody of the children, for instance.

It can work like this: The man and the woman begin fighting, and the man starts it. However, once he has been injured—it could be a simple scratch—the man then calls the police. This may not take long if the woman is trying to defend herself.

When the police get to the door, the man calmly blames his wife for the incident. He asks for her to be arrested and then presses charges. If she is convicted, it can stay on her record. When the couple splits up, the man can then bring up this record, tell the court that the woman is violent on a regular basis, and claim that she shouldn’t be allowed to see the children because she’s a danger to them. With the record out there, the court may agree.

Now, it’s important to note that this clearly doesn’t happen every time, as there are cases where men are the victims and women are the abusers. However, it’s also crucial to understand how this can be used as a ploy so that people can further their own goals during a divorce in Arizona.

If you are involved in a complex divorce case that involves domestic violence, and if you’re worried that lies and fabrications may ruin your chances to ever see your children again, you must know what legal options you have.
