Fall always seems to fly by for Arizona parents. Most kids have been back in school for a month and have found a way to maintain a consistently busy schedule. Between dropping them off at practice and helping them with a science fair project, many parents find that they hardly have time to blink before winter is here.
For divorced parents, this is especially true. On top of everything, they have to also adhere to a custody schedule, making sure everyone is where they need to be when they need to be there. Good coordination, however, often takes careful planning. As the days pass by quickly, the holidays will be here in no time, which is why divorced parents in Arizona may want to start thinking about holiday custody arrangements.
Those who have been divorced for a long time may already have a good plan worked out. But parents who are newly separated should find a child custody solution that meets everyone’s needs. Fortunately, there are many options to choose from.
Parents may decide that the best option is to alternate years for certain holidays. Another option is to split time during the holidays. Maybe Dad gets the children on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, and Mom gets them from noon on Christmas through the day after.
No matter how you decide to handle child custody during the holidays, it is always a good idea to have a plan in place ahead of time. Trying to make arrangements last-minute can cause confusion and tension that neither the parents nor the children want to deal with.
